My husband (25) and i(21) are ttc and have been for two years. I have PCOS and am currently taking metformin 500mg 2x daily and have been for over a year. In Dec. I had a ruptured cyst. I have been following a low carb diet and still no luck. Reserching infertility online I found alot of sites saying Clomid can be used along with metformin to help with ovulation. Should I ask my ObgYn to put me on it? Anyone have any success with this drug? Any other ideas? Thank you for your help!
I have only ovulated twice in the past year

Clomid can help stimulate ovulation if you aren’t ovulating on your own. Sometimes, getting the insulin resistance in check with Metformin is enough to start ovulation, but if that doesn’t work, doctors may try adding Clomid.

Do you know if you’re ovulating?

EDIT (Response to OP): In that case, Clomid might be the next step. However, I am not sure if it might be contraindicated because of your recent ruptured cyst.

But it can’t hurt to ask your OB about it. And if you still haven’t had any luck in a few months, you might consider seeking out a fertility specialist.

Best of luck to you!
